The SABC and the SABC Content Hub in particular, are pleased to announce our involvement in, and association with the Encounters Documentary Festival 2006.

As part of our commitment to the local television and film industry, the SABC will this year feature two exciting, landmark events at Encounters.

AUTHORSHIP & OWNERSHIP in African Storytelling

Content Is Still Queen!
JHB: Sat 15 July 10am – 1pm
CT: Sat 5 August 10am – 1pm

Ethics, editorial responsibility, authorship and ownership; the legislative framework and expectations; creative content and parameters – what are these and why do they matter? These and other issues are unpacked in this vital three-hour event, which will feature screenings, a rigorous debate with industry bodies around topical industry issues such as ethics, language and representation on our screens.

The industry and content session will also feature a group forum or debate, specialist contributions and speakers, inputs from producers and directors and one-on-one sessions with each other and the broadcaster.
